Hexes and Soldiers Blog Resurrection?

Hey guys!  It's been a while since i've posted anything here so i thought i'd dust off the ol' blog and give it a go.

What began as a "podcast" on Youtube finds me roughly 7 years later still kicking as the Hexes and Soldiers experiment keeps on trucking along.

H&S GAMES
The design and development arm of H&S GAMES sits idle.  As sales dwindled and those who were interested in the available games acquired them, that left a continuous stream of non activity and so as a result I pulled the plug on the H&S GAMES website.   Though my interest in the project has also dipped, the H&S Games Facebook page is still breathing such that if anyone desires to purchase one of my games or the magazine, they may still do so.   Additionally if any future developments do come to fruition, I will post them there.

Hexes and Soldiers Media
The Hexes and Soldiers Youtube channel is in full swing as is the Hexes and Soldiers Facebook page with new subscribers subscribing regularly.  As usual, any wargaming news, view and or reviews can be found therein.

Lessons learned since 2013
The primary lesson learned is that just about anything is possible if you put your mind to it.  It also came as a pleasant surprise to find so many helpful wargamers out there who are willing to lend a hand with no strings attached, simply out of a passion for the hobby.  A big thanks to all of you!

I've also come to learn quite a bit about myself.   Its curious to me just how much refuge a game can afford a gamer.  Life will always have its ups and downs, people will come and go but one constant remains, that of the map and counters.  What is more, as time goes by, i find my overall interest narrowing.  Call it tunnel vision if you will and perhaps this is a bad thing, nonetheless, those games which keep me coming back now more than ever form the bedrock of my existence.  I may occasionally stick my toe in uncharted waters but it's the warm waters of familiarity in which i habitually bathe.

Looking Ahead
Naturally, the future is uncertain, unless you believe the past repeats.  It's truly hard to say what direction i am heading or where i will end up.  I'd be lying if i said i never thought of discontinuing the Youtube channel and or the Facebook page, but then another post, another subscriber, another day, another week and the fact remains.  I'ts almost as if i have bet with myself to see how long I can keep the whole thing going.  I never would have thought I had 7 years in me but there it is.

In Conclusion
The Hexes and Soldiers "thing" has served itself up as a functional kind of therapy for this guy.  It's kept me sane and helped me to navigate this world of uncertainty.  Its a small thing, but its the small things that count in life.
